The Maas Subway system rests below Maas Neotek. It is one contiguous zone with only one floor, and isn't very large. The zone's sole regular entrance is a manhole at Chrysler and Verne in Maas - chud players can also access the zone via an underground entrance. The Maas Subway is not clearly signposted and has only one entrance, which is in a low-traffic area; many players go their entire time playing HellMOO without even knowing that this zone exists. It is rarely visited except for one brief quest and as a connector for chud tunnels.

Mobs

  • Chutneys spawn here, the zone's sole regular mob. They are non-aggressive, can pow, and can feint people lower than about 10 Brains. While not durable, their pows hit for high-20s stab damage through tire armor, making them a threat to over-ambitious newbies who are vulnerable to feint.
    • Chutneys drop 30 XP each until about 35,000 XP.
    • Chutneys are worth $180 each on the Maas Police contract.
  • The Chutney Bartender is here, to the far south of the zone. He sells beer, coffee and tea and is accompanied by a chutney band, who will play songs at intervals.
    • It is possible to cheer on or boo the chutney band. This has no effect whatsoever.
    • The Chutney Bartender is notable for being an unattackable mob; attacks queued against him will automatically be cancelled. He serves no essential purpose, so this is probably just an oversight.

Features

  • A rusty toolbox in the Service Room, which spawns a variety of low-level crafting parts and cosmetic hats (some of these count as halloween costumes).
    • Interestingly, all chutneys are neuter despite being described as male.
  • A rotting corpse in the Chutney Dorm, which spawns several knives inside it.
  • A bundle of dynamite in the northern subway. Wonder what that does...
  • Darkness. The entirety of the Maas Subway zone is dark, and requires a light or night vision to traverse.
