You're gifted with a sick fucking bone-spike that pops out from your wrist. It hurts like a bitch, though.

Incompatible with: nimble fingers, tendrils, ripper, and carcinocudgel.

Location

The Horrorspike mutation can be found in the Underground Jerkway beneath the Village of Lurleen. Once down in the Jerkway, follow the narrow pass and navigate around the various blind curves. You will be spat out at an Underground Riverbank, follow the river to the west and find Tadpole Grotto, where the mutation can be found.

The Underground Jerkway hosts several spiders which are tough for beginners to deal with. They will fuck you up, caution is definitely advised if you are trying to rush this mutation, either bring a friend or hire somebody to help.

Advantages

  • +1 Reflexes is a nice bonus for the mutation and will assist with any builds that utilize Reflexes. This is a stat used in Dodge, and is incredibly useful as it boosts your Spears total too.
  • +1 Quickdraw can come in useful with Pistols and Rifles when reloading, and pulling out weapons.
  • +2 Spears is usually why you would pick up this mutation. A couple more points in spears will boost your overall damage on skill scaling spear weapons, as well as reaching higher totals.
  • +2 Torture can come in useful for the bonus to critical chance, buffing stab damage types which the majority of spear weapons will do.
  • On Samsara, ripperlikes of all kinds don't lock oneself out of masturbation.

Disadvantages

  • Penalties for crafting skills like Craft and Chemistry; A hefty downside for any brainy builds.
  • -5 Locksmith doesn't really impact too much right now unless you are trying to pick some of the late-game dungeons, however others in the party should be able to help with this.
  • -3 Medic puts a significant dent in your ability to heal yourself and others reliably. Some rippertype builds give up on medic entirely because of the penalty.
  • -3 Repair is problematic if you want to be self sufficient, you will often need to rely on others for assistance with particular sensitive repairs such as valuable armor.
  • -1 Pilot isn't necessarily an issue if you have any movement mutations, and spear users will generally have high enough reflexes to make this disadvantage redundant.
